Movie Reviews

I've always loved watching all types of movies. Here, I can express my love and disgust for the movies I've watched.

Rush Hour (1998)

Premise: America and China team up to defeat capitalistic greed.

This movie is the defining film of my generation. It has broken major barriers between the African American and Asian communities. This action duo was so successful, it led to a completely unecessary but overtly welcomed trilogy. Due to coronovirus, xenophobia has unfortunately become an increasing issue, making this movie more relevant and necessary than ever.

Border (2018)

Premise: Border agent discovers her mysterious past much to the dismay of viewers.

I highly recommend going into this movie blind which makes it a truly special experience. I have never wanted to watch and stop watching a movie so much all at the same time. This is the type of movie you can’t stop recommending to your friends, but mainly because you just want someone to talk about what you just saw; taking comfort in that someone else has the same images burned into their brain. Overall, an unforgettable experience.

Oldboy (2013)

Premise: An American remake of a Korean film of a man trapped in a room and is then released years after.

If artificial banana flavoring was a movie this would be it. Real bananas: delicious, healthy, great source of potassium, and maybe a little oversexualized. Artificial banana flavoring: disgusting, no body likes it, nothing like the original besides its name, and should not exist in its current form. If you’re thinking about checking this movie out, check out the much better 2003 original instead (it’s bananas).
