In the past few weeks I have watched approximately 10 seasons of Triple D. What really makes the show is Guy, a frosted tip “Rockstar” chef and what I believe, the current face of the Food Network. Even though he is such a high energy character, he always lets the chef and their food be the star. In the end, this show is not one that will put you on the edge of your seat, but an excellent background filler to help create a relaxing atmosphere and have the occasional glance when you hear something interesting. But, if you’re ever in some rural town in the Midwest, you’ll be grateful you paid attention for that one episode because as you’ll have a whole list of restaurants ready to go.
The first season Lego Masters has only been a pleasant surprise. Hosted by Will Arnett, this show has a variety of challenges and never feels monotonous. In addition, having Bojack Horseman commentating along the way only makes it better. It has it all: drama, suspense, comedy and always leaves you amazed seeing extravagant structures and sculptures built with Lego you never knew was possible. The show itself has an entire lore built around it, immersing you in the competition with judges called “brick masters” and teams fighting for the golden brick to eventually earn the title of LEGO MASTER. I’m sure you’ll be rooting for certain teams after few challenges. By the end, it’ll leave you with an itch to buy a Legos and start building, but deep in the back of your mind you know whatever you build will be complete garbage to what you’ve seen on the show.
